Liminality

Thresholds, crossing-places, the sense of being betwixt and between, waiting. In the fourth of  her Pentecost Novenas, Maggi Dawn looks at the experience of Jesus's disciples after his ascension and suggests ways in which we can learn how to cope in the 'limbo of not-knowing.'  It took me back to my own liminal place several years ago as I struggled with the long  overdue  realisation that the church where I'd been for many years was not where I should be. Ascensiontide took on a new meaning that year, and I still remember the pivotal moment during a service at York Minster where the Almighty's message came through loud and clear.
